Ruston (La.) cornerback Aidan Anding has committed to the LSU Tigers, choosing them over the Arkansas Razorbacks and Texas Longhorns during a ceremony at his high school. This commitment from the consensus three-star prospect reinforces LSU’s dominance in securing in-state talent, coming just days after defensive backs coach Corey Raymond successfully flipped Fort Bend Hightower defensive back Kade Phillips from Texas, leaving the Longhorns with only one commitment in the secondary.
Texas initially offered the 5’11, 165-pound Anding in late March and hosted him shortly after for an unofficial visit during their major recruiting event. Anding then returned for an official visit on June 21. However, his recruitment took a significant turn when LSU extended an offer a week later, causing Anding to delay his planned announcement.
From that point on, all four 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions pointed toward LSU, leading to minimal suspense surrounding Anding’s decision on Saturday.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Anding is the No. 448 player nationally and the No. 39 cornerback.
Texas has offered 17 cornerbacks in the 2025 recruiting class, and with Anding’s decision, all 17 are now committed. At safety, consensus five-star Jonah Williams is the only uncommitted prospect ahead of his announcement on Saturday, leaving the Longhorns with limited options in the defensive backfield unless they offer more prospects or manage to flip a currently committed player.
