The Barrie Colts have acquired prospect Tristan Bertucci in a significant three-way trade involving the Colts, Niagara IceDogs, and Flint Firebirds.
This trade sees a total of six players and 11 draft picks changing teams for the 2024-2025 OHL season.
In the initial move, the Firebirds traded Bertucci, two draft picks, and one conditional pick to the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for Arterm Frolov, Urban Podrekar, the rights to Hayden Reid, and five draft picks. The IceDogs then sent Bertucci to the Colts in return for Jack Brauti, Blair Scott, and additional draft picks.
Bertucci has spent the last three seasons with the Firebirds, appearing in 186 regular-season games and recording 107 points (22 goals, 85 assists) with a plus/minus of +46.
Selected 61st overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2023 NHL Draft, Bertucci, a Vaughan, Ontario native, will join other NHL prospects in Barrie, including Beau Akey (EDM), Cole Beaudoin (UTA), and Riley Patterson (VAN).
He was originally chosen seventh overall in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.
