Alabama football’s 2025 recruiting class has suffered a setback as star withdraws his commitment. The Rome, Georgia native has decided to attend Tennessee rather than the Crimson Tide.
“I want to thank the entire Alabama staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play for such a great program,” Harmon said in a social media post announcing the news on Sunday. “Respect my Decision.”
Harmon, a four-star linebacker according to the 247Sports composite rankings, shared the post with Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and tagged Volunteer LBs coach William Inge. Inge formerly worked on Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer’s staff at Washington.

Harmon’s decommitment left Alabama with 19 existing commits for the 2025 class, which will be DeBoer’s first full cycle as coach. The UA team remains rated second on the 247 sports composite, trailing only Ohio State.
The Tennessee class is placed sixth. LSU, Georgia, and Auburn are in between the Volunteers and the Crimson Tide.
Alabama has numerous other linebacker commitments for the 2025 class, even without Harmon. UA’s current class features five-star Darrell “Duke” Johnson, four-star Dawson Merritt, and three-stars Abduall Sanders Jr. and Luke Metz.
