Breaking News: Auburn land monster commitment for All-American star

The Auburn University  have added two top stars to their roster for the 2024-25 season. Jordan Szabo, the Tigers’ head coach, announced them. Since being designated head coach, Szabo has signed four players, including Merna Refaat and Emma Tothová, who joined in July. Auburn’s autumn schedule will begin on September 13 with the Debbie Southern autumn Classic.

Hrastar was also chosen third-team All-ACC in 2022 and has competed in the NCAA doubles championship twice. She started her undergraduate career at Georgia Tech, where she had a 35-23 overall singles record and a 38-24 overall doubles record over three seasons. In 2022, the Duluth, Georgia native received ITA Doubles All-American accolades after reaching the NCAA Doubles Championship quarterfinals.

Following the 2022-23 season and graduation from Georgia Tech, Hrastar joined the Ole Miss team the following season. With the Rebels, she went 14-14 in singles and 13-16 in doubles. For the remainder of the season, Hrastar was predominantly a top singles player at Ole Miss, as well as a top doubles player alongside Briana Crowley.

The duo finished the season ranked No. 65 in doubles, with Hrastar at No. 108.

Prior to college, Battesti attended Lycée Saint Paul in Ajaccio, where she competed in soccer, handball, basketball, ping-pong, swimming, and tennis. She has joined the Tigers from the University of Bordeaux in Bordeaux, France. She won both the 2023 French U18 Vice Championship and the French University Tennis Championship earlier this year. She won the Corsica Tennis Championship junior title in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, and the adult and junior crowns in 2022 and 2023.

“I am delighted to have Alice and Ava join us for this new age of Auburn women’s tennis. Alice is one of France’s best players, while Ava is a top collegiate tennis player. They both have big tennis objectives, and I am pleased that they have picked us to lead them on their journey. “We will do everything we can to help them improve and propel Auburn to new heights,” Szabo stated.
