LSU have received an unexpected boost on the recruiting front when the star defensive tackle Dilan Battle from Arlington, Texas, announced his commitment to the Tigers.
Standing at 6’3” and 300 pounds, Battle may be rated as a three-star prospect, but he has attracted some impressive offers for the player. According to his On3 profile, Battle has received offers from top programs like Alabama, Oregon, Michigan, Texas, and Oklahoma. It seems that TCU and SMU were the schools most closely linked to Battle, which makes sense given their proximity to Arlington and the DFW area.
Battle first caught the attention of Bo Davis when Davis was coaching the defensive line at Texas. That interest continued after Davis moved to LSU, and now Battle appears eager to join Davis in Baton Rouge.
“He told me I’m a great player and that he really wants me to come here,” Battle shared with On3. “I have a great opportunity to play right away, but he also mentioned what I need to improve on.”
With Battle’s commitment, LSU now has 22 total pledges for the 2025 recruiting class, including three defensive tackles. Battle joins Zion Williams and Brandon Brown as part of this group. Additionally, LSU has emerged as a strong contender to land three-star defensive tackle Walter Mathis from Georgia, who is reportedly choosing between LSU, Auburn, Clemson, and Miami.
