The Dallas Cowboys’ current roster could be entering its final season intact, with pass rusher Micah Parsons, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and quarterback Dak Prescott all seeking contract extensions.
The three are undoubtedly the Cowboys’ best and most valuable players, and losing any one of them would be devastating to their future Super Bowl prospects.
According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, controversial Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has stated that there has been no significant movement in extension talks with Lamb or Prescott.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on contract talks with CeeDee Lamb: “They’re just progressing, in my mind.”
On Dak Prescott’s contract: “I would say that we’re talking. I would not have a legitimate progress point there at all. And I really don’t have it for Lamb, either. And it’s not…

“I’d say we’re talking. Jones remarked of Prescott, “I would have no legitimate progress point there at all.” “And I don’t have it for Lamb either. And it isn’t negative. I’m just assuming that talking about progress wouldn’t be productive.”
Cowboys fans like to think Lamb is the best wideout in the NFL right now, and they may have a valid point.
Last season, he led the league with 135 receptions, was second with 1,749 receiving yards, and scored 14 total touchdowns, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro First Team honors.
Prescott, on the other hand, led the league with 410 completed passes and 36 touchdown passes while accumulating 4,516 passing yards, and he briefly emerged as a leading MVP candidate late last season.
There has been much conjecture that Prescott will not be extended and will instead play out the last year of his deal before becoming a free agency in 2025.
That scenario implies that 2024 could be his final season in Dallas.
The Cowboys are in desperate need of good news and fortune after a very promising 2023 season ended with a thud when they were beaten in the wild-card round of the playoffs by the Green Bay Packers.
However, a dark cloud is currently hanging over the franchise, which could turn into a storm in the near future.
