Breaking News: Syracuse Lands Blockbuster Commitment For Highly Rated Talented Star

Ryder Frost, whose recruiting has skyrocketed following an excellent spring and summer on the AAU circuit, has dropped his top eight, which includes Syracuse basketball.

This is a positive step for the Orange, though I’m not shocked that the ‘Cuse made the list for the 2025 four-star wing and top-100 national talent in the incoming high school senior class.
In late May, the Orange staff extended a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-6 Frost. The next month, in late June, he made an official visit to the Hill. In recent interviews, Frost has spoken positively of Syracuse basketball and stated that his official visit to the program went well.

According to recruiting insider Sam Kayser, who operates the X account 24/7 High School Hoops, Frost’s top eight are Syracuse, Penn State, Michigan, BYU, Notre Dame, Iowa, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin.

Kayser said on X, “Frost is an athletic wing who can knock down shots from all over the floor.” A good positioned rebounder with defensive ability.”

For what it’s worth, when I wrote this post on Sunday evening, On3’s recruiting prediction system had the Orange slightly ahead of Frost, followed by Penn State, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

Syracuse basketball remains in contention for 2025 four-star wing Ryder Frost.

Frost is a rising senior at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire. In grassroots basketball this spring and summer, he received a lot of accolades from national commentators and scouts for his performances for the Boston-based Middlesex Magic’s 17U team in the Under Armour Association competition.
According to a post on X from earlier this month by the Middlesex Magic, Frost has received more than 30 scholarship offers during his recruitment, with many of them arriving since the late spring as he balled out on the Under Armour Association circuit.
Frost is one of the priority targets for the Orange staff in the 2025 class. Sadiq White Jr., a five-star forward and top-20 national talent, was born in late May.

Sadiq White Jr., a five-star forward and top-20 national prospect, verbally committed to Syracuse basketball, marking the program’s first commitment in this cycle.

Recently, the Orange made the top six of 2025 four-star recruits Kiyan Anthony, London Jemison, and Derek Dixon, all of whom have paid formal visits to the ‘Cuse.

Acaden Lewis, a 2025 four-star guard, recently named Syracuse basketball one of his top eight teams. On August 1, he paid an unauthorized visit to the Orange.
Looking ahead, 2025 four-star wing/small forward Shon Abaev has planned an official visit to Syracuse basketball from August 30 to August 31.
