Auburn football announces their preseason fanfest, and Auburn basketball schedules a two-season series with Houston.
We’ve reached August, which means there are just a few weeks until the 2024 college football season kicks up. Auburn football will return to action on August 31 when they host Alabama A&M at Jordan-Hare Stadium, but there is plenty to look forward to until then.
The Auburn Family Football Preseason Kickoff will take place on August 10 at the indoor facility behind the Athletics Complex, which is located at the corner of Samford Avenue and South Donahue Drive. Attendance is free, and the doors will open at 3:00 p.m. central.
Fans will be able to meet the 2024 Auburn Tigers and Hugh Freeze, get autographs, and visit the family fun zone. There will also be a pep rally organized by the Auburn Cheerleaders, with a cameo by Aubie.
Auburn basketball has scheduled a two-season series with Houston
Meanwhile, head coach Bruce Pearl has put together one of the best non-conference schedules in program history. Auburn basketball and Houston have agreed to play a two-season series beginning this fall, according to Auburn Undercover.
The Tigers will face Houston on November 9 at the Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets, while the Cougars will play the Tigers in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2025.
In addition to Houston, the Tigers will face Purdue, Duke, and the Maui Invitational lineup, which includes defending NCAA champion UConn. None of these games will be played at Neville Arena. Auburn will play Purdue at a neutral site in Birmingham, then fly to Durham to face Duke in the SEC/ACC Challenge, while the Maui Invitational will obviously take place on Maui.
This year’s Tigers will have a tough non-conference schedule, but Pearl will ensure that his players are prepared for the battle.
