Breaking News: New York Yankees trade for former MVP

As the MLB trade deadline of July 30 approaches, the New York Yankees are actively involved in numerous conversations with many teams. So far, the Yankees have been linked to a number of potential trades, including dealing with the Tampa Bay Rays and adding another closer. But that is not all.

The truth is that the Yankees could improve multiple spots on their roster, including the infield, pitching staff, and possibly another outfield bat. In other words, they’re open to almost anything, anyone who can help New York win its 28th World Series championship.

Now, the Yankees are being discussed as a potential trade partner for a former National League MVP.

MLB insider suggests New York Yankees could target Cody Bellinger

Cody Bellinger, a Chicago Cubs outfielder/first baseman, has surprisingly been linked to the New York Yankees via trade. Despite being injured at the present, Bellinger will return once his fractured finger recovers.

His bloated price, along with the uncertainty surrounding Chicago’s ability to compete, might find Bellinger back on the trade street within the next two weeks, and ESPN’s Jesse Rogers believes the left-handed slugger would be an ideal match in the Big Apple.

Bellinger may be a great addition to the Yankees’ injury-plagued lineup. He not only has a good OPS of.742, but he has also demonstrated the capacity to be a Gold Glove defender in the outfield. The fact that he can also undertake first base duties adds to his worth. But first, the Cubs would have to be willing to trade, and we’re not sure they are yet.

“If the Chicago Cubs fall further behind, they may seek to trade Cody Bellinger, if there is a market for him, as he has two player option years remaining at $30 million each and is on the injured list with a fractured finger. The Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees may both be interested in Cody Bellinger for opposite reasons: Seattle struggles to hit, while New York is hurt.
