Breaking News: Yankees complete the signing of another top talented star

Georgia State University is delighted to announce that star outfielder JoJo Jackson has been picked by the New York Yankees in the 17th round of the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft.

Jackson will play for the Frederick Keys, a collegiate summer baseball team in the MLB Draft. This astounding performance is a watershed moment in Jackson’s bright career and reinforces Georgia State’s reputation for developing top-tier athletic potential.

The Stone Mountain, Ga. native was a three-year letterwinner at Georgia State and a two-year starter as a switch hitting outfielder. Jackson became the Panthers’ third-leading hitter in his final year, with a.310 batting average. He was also second on the team in 2024 with 15 home runs, ranking 10th in the Sun Belt.

In addition to his multiple program accolades, Jackson was fourth in the Sun Belt in slugging (.655 percent) and seventh in the conference in OPS (1.049).
