Commitment! Top Talented Star Decommits from Rivals to Join Gators

The Florida Gators made a significant move on Wednesday, trading for an out-of-state linebacker from another SEC school.

Linebacker Myles Johnson (6-1, 220, Brewton, AL. T.R. Miller) has committed to Florida after making many visits to Gainesville and abandoning the Alabama class last week.

Johnson is a man that the Gators have turned up the heat on over the past six months and made him feel right at home in Gainesville.

“Just the people here, they are just great,” Johnson remarked about the trip’s highlight. “They genuinely care about you and your success as a student athlete. They want you to be successful and achieve your full potential.”

The Alabama native paid an official visit to Florida last month, where he had the opportunity to get to know the defensive staff in Gainesville.

“Coach Will, Coach Roberts, Coach Armstrong, we spent a lot of time during the dinners, and we got to talk,” Johnson exclaimed. “We finished our meetings today; they just wanted to make it clear that they genuinely value me. I’d like to be somewhere where I am wanted. I really appreciate how they made myself and my family feel welcome.”

Johnson is the ninth commitment of the Class of 2025 for the Gators and the third promise to Florida in the previous week, following Joshua Moore and Tae’Shaun Gelsey, who both announced commitments earlier this week.
