Talented wide receiver confirms his commitment date.
Florida State football has already pulled a surprise by signing four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley from Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia. Wiley was expected to pledge to his home-state Georgia Bulldogs. However, when it came time to make a decision, he did something unexpected.
However, it is vital to remember that we still have five months until December’s Early Signing Period. Recruiting is an ever-changing process that involves kids making one of the most difficult decisions of their lives.
With that stated, I expect the Seminoles to try to sign two more wide receivers in this class.
It helps that wide receivers coach Ron Dugans signed Camdon Frier, BJ Gibson, Lawayne McCoy, and Elijah Moore during the 2024 recruiting cycle.
The talent pool at wide receiver must be renewed on a continuous basis. You can never have enough offensive playmakers. Numbers will always sort themselves out. The Seminoles will keep an eye on four players: Kaliq Lockett (five stars), Vernell Brown III (five stars), Malik Clark (four stars), and Daylan McCutcheon (four stars).
In regards of the aforementioned objectives, Class of 2025 five-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida, has declared that he would commit to his preferred school on July 21st, choosing between Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, and Miami.

Brown III was once strongly associated with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Most people believed that the program was prepared to land yet another excellent wide receiver prospect.
However, excitement for the Buckeyes began to fade as it appears that the Florida Gators are now leading for the Orlando native. As an outsider, you might be wondering why the Gators have seen an increase in recruitment despite their recent troubles.
It is worth noting that his father, Vernell Brown, played for the Gators in the early 2000s. The Seminoles did, however, arrange for him to pay an official visit on June 21st as part of their huge recruiting weekend. Plus, Tramell Jones Jr., a four-star quarterback commit and his 7v7 teammate, is attempting to recruit him to Florida State.
