The New York Yankees started the season on a high note, going 50-22 on June 14. Aaron Boone’s club has gone only 4-14 since. Despite this, Aaron Judge has consistently been one of baseball’s top hitters, entering play with a.310 batting average.
To be honest, Judge and Juan Soto have made significant contributions to the Yankees’ lineup, but many others have not. Since June 3, the Yankees have a.221 batting average, ranking 27th in the major leagues.
On Thursday, Aaron Judge’s hitting coach, Richard Schenck, had had it.
While watching the Yankees’ 8-4 loss to the Reds, Judge’s hitting instructor, who does not work for the Yankees, resorted to social media to launch an attack on the Yankees’ player development program.
“They’ve lost 13 of 18 while he (Aaron Judge) is hitting like an MVP. “The Yankees’ offensive player development is terrible.”

The tweet has 597,000 views and counting, so there’s no wonder it reached Yankees manager Aaron Boone. By Friday, Boone had already had to respond to inquiries about the internet vitriol directed at his team. He makes it plain that the comments have no influence on his or his team’s actions.
“People are going to say things, and everyone has a right to their opinion, and especially when you’re going through a bad stretch and you’re wearing this uniform, you know people are going to take jabs and whatnot, so you can’t get caught up in it all. We have enough to worry about every day, making sure we’re dressed appropriately and presenting ourselves in the best possible light. I honestly don’t care what people say on Twitter. To be honest, it does not involve me. Someone else has made a comment.
Aaron Boone responded to criticism.
Following a three-game sweep by the Reds, the Yankees lost 5-3 in extra innings against the Red Sox on Friday. They managed only six hits, with Judge going 0-4, walking once and striking out. Schenck, on the other hand, did not post any particularly intriguing tweets.
