When it appeared like Danny Sprinkle had completed a significant overhaul of the Washington men’s basketball team’s 2024-25 roster, the new Husky coach is squeezing in one more recruit with seemingly enormous promise.
DraftExpress.com reports that the Huskies received a commitment from French swingman Dominique Diomande on Wednesday.
“Thank God, it was a long process, but his mercy we get to everything!” Dominique shared on the social media platform X.
The 6-foot-7 wing is from Tours, France, and most recently played professionally for ADA Bolis in the French Basketball League, averaging 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.8 steals.
Diomande, 19, also played for the Ivory Coast national team.
Diomande is projected by NBAdraft.net to be the 48th choice in next year’s 2025 NBA draft, one of six Big Ten players selected.
Still, it’s uncertain how Diomande will fit into the Huskies’ roster after allocating their full 13 scholarships to three returning players and ten newcomers.
