Groundbreaking update involving Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark has already set a franchise record for the Indiana Fever after just 20 games this season.

Clark finished with 15 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds in her win over the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday.

With those 12 assists, she now has 138 for the year, a new team record for the most in a single season for a rookie.

Clark was the team’s third-highest scorer in their 88-82 victory over Phoenix, which includes WNBA legends Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner.

She played 39 minutes and was just one rebound away from becoming the first WNBA rookie to post a triple-double.

According to reports yesterday, Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides instructed Clark that she should shoot the ball

more.

She took more shots than anybody else on her squad, but she was inefficient, shooting 4-14 from the field and 2-10 from three.

Taurasi, who previously told Clark that she would face a difficult transition to the league, lauded the rookie for how she has handled the increased level of competition.

‘It’s astonishing what Caitlin has accomplished in her brief career so far. It’s been nothing short of extraordinary. One thing I truly like about her is how much she enjoys playing games.

‘You can tell she worked hard. Throughout her brief WNBA career, she has faced a great deal of pressure and a variety of challenges. She continues to show up and improve with each game.
