Black Knights Receive Ground-breaking News Involving Two Players

Charles Farmer and Lucas Stoddard of Army West Point Wrestling won gold medals at the United World Wrestling U23 Pan-American Championships, which were held in Colombia on June 23.

Farmer went 3-0 in the 57kg freestyle championships while representing the United States, defeating Treye Trotman of Canada in the gold medal match.

“Charlie was all over his opponents’ legs this weekend, and he got the results he wanted,” Army assistant head coach Scott Green said. “A gold in his first international competition is something he will always remember.”

Stoddard, meantime, won the 125kg championship by defeating Jorawar Dhinsa of Canada 2-1 in the finals after losing in the group stage and round-robin.

“Lucas had five matches, which was an excellent preparation for the World Championships. “He made some nice adjustments to avenge an earlier loss,” Green stated.

Additionally, Army’s Joseph Couch competed in the 60kg Greco-Roman flight, finishing 1-2 overall.

Stoddard will prepare for the UWW U23 World Championships, which will take place in Tirana, Albania, in October. He qualified for the World Championships after winning gold in the 125kg weight class at the USA Wrestling National Championships in Geneva, Ohio earlier this month.
