Adonai Mitchell, an Indianapolis Colts wide receiver, has made an impression at each career stop he has made thus far. That included a two-season NCAA stay with the Georgia Bulldogs, during which time they won consecutive national championships. Then Mitchell chose to leave Athens for Austin, where he joined head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns. But why leave a program before of a possible three-peat?
Mitchell’s answer was simple: family. Particularly, his young daughter.
Football, undoubtedly, is a family affair. However, Mitchell emphasized that family must take precedence before football.
“My daughter, and wanting to go back home to be with her, was the most important thing. I never got to hug and tell my kid how much I love her. We had to do everything over the phone, including blowing kisses. And I knew that transferring to Texas would change everything,” Mitchell told Texas Athletics earlier this week.

However, he did join a team that advanced to the College Football Playoffs after defeating Georgia.
