BREAKING: Tennessee beats Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia to commit another standout player

Tennessee football wins a big recruiting battle against conference opponents. Charles House committed to the Vols at the end of the week. The four-star defensive lineman from Huntersville, North Carolina chose the Volunteers over Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia.

House revealed on X/Twitter on Saturday that he has found his “home” in Knoxville, stating, “I’m home, Good Ol Rocky Top.”

The 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive lineman is a part of the 2025 recruiting class, ranked 64th by 247Sports Composite and 24th by On3 Sports.

House paid a visit to Rocky Top on June 14 and announced his decision to pledge to Tennessee a week later. He also went to Athens on June 7 and Tuscaloosa on May 31.

After visiting three of the best SEC programs in the last month, House said Tennessee felt the most like home, and his bond with the coaches was the reason he chose the Vols over Georgia or Alabama.

“I chose Tennessee because of my relationships with the staff and coaches,” House told On3 Sports. “It felt like home.” I can see myself excelling there, and they can help me grow tremendously.”

“I wanted to go somewhere where I would fit in,” said House, the No. 284 overall prospect and No. 24 defensive lineman in the 2025 On300 rankings. “At Tennessee, it felt like it was that right fit.”

This is a massive victory for Josh Heupel and the Tennessee football team. The Vols are known for their fast-paced, high-powered offense, but Heupel and his coaching staff have prioritized acquiring top defensive talent in recent recruiting cycles.

House is the sixth defensive player in the 2025 class to commit to Tennessee, bringing the total number of commitments to 13 as of July. The 2025 class is presently headed by four-star quarterback George MacIntyre of Nashville, Tennessee, as the Vols’ pledges pile up.

Other top 2025 pledges include four-star quarterback George MacIntyre, four-star defensive lineman Ethan Outlay, four-star wide receiver Radarious Jackson, four-star tight end Jack Van Dorselaer, and four-star edge Jayden Loftin.
