Breaking: UNC offer to land commitment for another top talented star

Acaden Lewis has scheduled two visits to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, just one week after receiving an offer. The 6-

foot-2 guard from Washington (D.C.) Sidwell Friends will have an unofficial visit to UNC’s campus on June 27 before returning for an official visit on October 4, he announced Thursday to 247Sports.

“They’ve had so many good guards,” Lewis told Inside Carolina earlier this month regarding the Tar Heels program. “Even the head coach participated in the league. It’s a hotbed of college basketball.”

Lewis has been one of the class of 2025’s emerging stars this travel season, culminating in his MVP performance this month at the NBPA Top 100 Camp. And this occurred after leading Sidwell Friends to their third consecutive state championship and being named Gatorade’s Washington D.C. Player of the Year.

The offers have been coming in: Auburn, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, UConn, and UNC are among the fresh additions to his offer list. This is in addition to all of the previously provided high-major programs.

Lewis visited Kentucky earlier this week. In addition to his trip to UNC, he will also visit UConn on June 25th.

Lewis was ranked No. 78 in the nation by 247Sports entering the summer, but his recent performance boosted him 44 spots in the rankings announced on Tuesday. “Lewis’ big rise during this update is because he continues to deliver on every big stage and never shies away from a challenge,” 247Sports’ Travis Branham claimed. Lewis is now ranked as the No. 34 overall talent and No. 6 combo guard in the 2025 class.

“He’s not the biggest out there, but he is able to play so much bigger than 6-foot-1 or 6-foot-2 because of his toughness,” according to 247Sports’ Eric Bossi. “When the ball is in his hands, his spirit is unbreakable, and he possesses equal parts confidence and toughness.

“His explosive ball skills and scoring abilities consistently created opportunities for himself and others (during the NBPA Top 100 Camp). Lewis hit three-pointers, got in the paint, finished around the rim, and was very productive.”

North Carolina is overhauling its 2025 Recruiting Board, with six fresh offers to the class in recent weeks and more likely this summer. Lewis will be the first of the bunch to arrive this summer.
