Major Breaking: Oregon State beat rivals to land commitment for another talented star

Oregon State got its first in-state commitment for the 2025 recruiting class on Sunday, when West Linn offensive lineman Jake Normoyle accepted an offer to join the Beavers program.

Normoyle, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 295 pounds, is the sixth high school senior to commit to OSU for the 2018 class and the second offensive lineman and is highly rated by several recruiting organizations. He received offers from Oregon and Portland State.

Normoyle’s father, Chad, was an offensive tackle for Oregon in the mid-1990s.

Normoyle announced his promise to Oregon State during an official school tour this weekend. As a junior, Normoyle was named to the Class 6A all-state offensive line first team.

Offensive lineman Noah Thomas (Vancouver), linebacker Jeremiah Ioane (Henderson, Nevada), running back Kourdey Glass (Hanford, California), and receiver Ellijah Washington (Oakland) have all committed to Oregon State for 2025.

Normoyle revealed  “I chose Oregon State because I had a wonderful visit. The people here are extremely genuine, and I have a great relationship with the coaching staff.”

“I love the college town feel of Corvallis.”

“Coach (Kyle) DeVan is a huge draw for me—his experience, style, and who he is as a person create an environment where I see myself being successful and learning.”

Normoyle received offers from all three in-state D-I programs: Oregon State, Portland State, and Oregon, where his father played for the Ducks.

However, the Beavers were his initial offer and made him a priority from the moment DeVan offered him.

The industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings give Normoyle a three-star rating. 247Sports lists Normoyle as the No. 62 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class, and he is Oregon’s No. 3 recruit. The composite rates him as the No. 96 interior offensive lineman in the US and the No. 4 player in Oregon in 2025.

While Normoyle plays tackle for West Linn, he projects inside for the Beavers. He’ll bring positional versatility with experience playing tackle, but he’ll slip inside and play guard or center, and we believe he’ll end up playing center.

Normoyle is the best offensive lineman in his class in the state, and he anchors the Lions’ left tackle position. He

possesses positional versatility and is similar to former West Linn player Alex Forsyth, who played tackle at West

Linn and is now a center for the Denver Broncos. Normoyle may project better inside in college because to his

stature, but he has the footwork and hands to be an offensive lineman, which he has done admirably for the Lions.
