The four-star edge rusher has committed to Tennessee’s 2025 class. The New Jersey native has two more formal visits planned, but he didn’t feel the need to wait.
The 6-4, 250-pound pass rusher is ranked 344th overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings. Loftin represents Somerville, New Jersey, and is ranked as the state’s 12th best player. Loftin currently ranks as the 27th top edge prospect in the 2025 class.
Loftin picked Tennessee over offers from Syracuse, Wisconsin, Boston College, Nebraska, Penn State, South Carolina, and many more. He was scheduled for formal visits to Nebraska, Penn State, and Syracuse in the following days.

Loftin paid an official visit to Knoxville this past weekend. After meeting with both Rodney Garner and Mike Ekeler, Loftin decided to move forward with his plans.
It’s worth noting that Loftin, who is already 250 pounds, could end up playing more of a strongside defensive end role. We’ll see where he goes once he gets to campus next year.
He joins the 2025 class, which includes top 150 overall defensive line recruit Ethan Utley, who committed in the spring. Tennessee now has 11 total commitments for the class, which is presently ranked 19th in the USA.
