BREAKING: Gators land commitment for another top talented star

The Florida Gators have been looking for a punter for the 2025 class. That quest ended on Wednesday, when North Bridgton (ME) Bridgton Academy punter Hayden Craig joined the class. He revealed the decision during a visit to campus on Tuesday of this week.

Sources have informed Swamp247 that Craig will be on scholarship.

Florida presently has one scholarship punter on the roster, senior Jeremy Crawshaw, who will have his eligibility expire at the end of the 2018 season. Florida also has punter Jack Muse on its roster as a walk-on. He joined the team this spring.

So the intention this cycle was to add a scholarship punter for the future to the roster, and that goal has already been met.

With this acquisition, Florida’s recruiting class for 2025 now has five pledges. Other names in the Gators’ recruiting class include Tallahassee (Fla.). James Rickards’ four-star advantage Jalen Wiggins, Tampa (Florida) Plant four-star running back Waltez Clark, Havana. Jeramiah McCloud, a three-star defensive lineman from Gadsden County, and Chad Gasper, a three-star running back from Katy Jordan in Fulshear, Texas.

He is currently unrated on 247Sports, but is a four-star punter on Kohls Kicking Service. According to Kohls, he is also the 18th-ranked punter. He is also classified as the No. 56 kicker by Kohls. The following is their scouting report on Craig.

Gators add commitment from punter Hayden Craig

“Craig attended the 2024 Kohl’s Eastern Showcase Camp in May.” He had a fantastic performance and an all-around day. Craig scored 12/15 on field goals and 104.15 on kickoffs. His best kickoff distance was 65 yards, with a hang time of 4.00 seconds. His punting drills were at the D1 level, and he averaged 105.6 points on his punt charts. Craig has some of the best leg talent among combination athletes in the 2025 class. Craig achieved a 4.5-star rating in December 2023 after a successful day at a winter Showcase Camp. He has 11 points on field goals, 106.4 on kickoffs, and 103.4 on punts. His longest kickoff traveled 71 yards and lasted 3.75 seconds.

His greatest punt covered 46 yards and lasted 4.31 seconds. Craig is an excellent combo kicker/punter whose leg talent might help a collegiate team’s squad!”

With five commitments, Florida’s 2025 recruiting class ranks 64th overall in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings.
