A four-star wide receiver has verbally committed to the Texas Tech football program.
Texas Tech and head coach Joey McGuire continue to build a strong 2025 recruiting class. Following the Monday morning announcement of 3-star defensive back Swayde Griffin’s commitment, wide receiver Bryson Jones, who visited Lubbock over the weekend, also declared his intention to join the Red Raiders on Monday afternoon.
According to 247Sports, Jones is a four-star composite recruit, ranked as the No. 58 wide receiver in the country and the No. 60 player in Texas. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound talent received offers from schools including Texas A&M, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Baylor.
In his last season, Jones caught 64 passes for 1,092 yards and 15 touchdowns. His commitment adds to an already impressive group of wide receivers for Texas Tech, which includes 4-star Tristan Gentry from Stephenville, Texas, ranked as the No. 30 wide receiver in the 2025 class.

Texas Tech also has commitments from 3-star wide receivers Lleyton Stone from Friendship High School and Isaiah Robertson from Arlington, Texas.
Developing young receivers is crucial for Texas Tech as they will lose key players in the coming seasons. This year, the team will rely on Washington State transfer Josh Kelly, who has only one year of eligibility left. Drae McCray, a speedy inside receiver, will also use up his eligibility after the upcoming season, potentially stepping into a larger role following Myles Price’s transfer to Indiana. Additionally, Florida transfer Caleb Douglas, a junior who might start on the outside, will be leaving after next season.
Texas Tech now boasts the No. 19 overall recruiting class in the nation according to 247Sports, with 14 players committed for 2025, including eight offensive players.
