Breaking: Louisville make offer to land commitment for another talented star

Nik Khamenia helped the USA Basketball 18U team win the men’s AmeriCup gold medal. Louisville head coach Pat Kelsey extended a scholarship offer for the Class of 2025 on Tuesday.

Harvard-Westlake forward Nik Khamenia received offers from Louisville, Michigan, Tennessee, and Oregon on Tuesday.

While the majority of the top players in the ’25 class are competing in front of college coaches at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, Khamenia is finishing up his time with USA Basketball. He was a member of the Men’s U18 National Team that won the gold medal in the FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup in Buenos Aires.

In six games with Team USA, Khamenia averaged 7.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 19.4 minutes per game. The squad averaged 106.8 points per game, with only one player averaging more than 10.8 points per game. Khamenia was third on the squad in plus/minus with a plus-21.5.

The -foot-8, 215-pound Khamenia has also received offers from Gonzaga, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, St. John’s, Stanford, UCLA, and UNLV.

“(Khamenia) has emerged as one of the top power forward prospects out West and nationally,” said Eric Bossi, 247Sports’ national recruiting director. “He plays a game that emphasizes skill, tenacity, and competitive fire. Offensively, he is a competent jump shooter with three-point range. He enjoys playing in the high post, where he can shoot, attack off the dribble, and find cutters with clean passes.”

Khamenia competes on the Puma circuit.
