Breaking: UNC set to land commitment for another talented star

The UNC basketball program has approached Combo Guard from AAU Team Durant.

Acaden Lewis, a 6-foot-3 combo guard from Baltimore, Maryland, might be a valuable addition to the UNC

basketball squad. Lewis is now one of ESPN’s top 100 High School Recruits, ranking No. 67 overall and No. 12 at his position.

Lewis has garnered significant interest from the college basketball community. Within the ACC, schools like Miami, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and others have shown interest, alongside prominent programs like Villanova and Kentucky.

North Carolina Basketball has eight scholarships available for the 2025-2026 season. If Elliot Cadeau continues his progress, he is likely to head to the NBA before Lewis starts his college career. Similarly, five-star recruit Ian Jackson, who is expected to be a “one-and-done” player, might also leave for the NBA. Therefore, securing a guard in the 2025 class is crucial for Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels.

UNC has extended offers to two combo guards in the 2025 class: ESPN’s No. 8 ranked recruit Jasper Johnson and Derek Dixon, who is ranked No. 62 overall. It’s possible that Acaden Lewis will soon receive an offer from North Carolina as well.

Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels had a successful recruiting season recently. According to 247 Sports, their 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 9 nationally and third in the ACC. They aim to continue building on this success by attracting more high school stars in 2025 to bolster the North Carolina Tar Heel Basketball program.
