Breaking: Wisconsin land commitment for another talented star

The Badgers have gained a 14th commitment to the 2025 class. This is what stands out.
The three-star offensive lineman Nolan Davenport announced his commitment to the Wisconsin football program, marking the 14th commitment to the 2025 class.

The Ohio native resorted to social media to make it official.

Here’s a look back at Davenport’s recruitment and what he brings to the Badgers.

According to the composite rankings, Davenport is the No. 598 player in the USA, the No. 47 OT, and the No. 20 player in Ohio.

During his recruitment, the Massillon Washington High School standout received 33 scholarship offers from major teams such as Penn State, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Indiana, Arkansas, Purdue, Stanford, Kentucky, Louisville, and several others.

Davenport paid an official visit to Wisconsin this past weekend, and offensive line coach AJ Blazek was able to complete this recruiting before traveling to Missouri later in June.

With Davenport’s verbal commitment, Wisconsin now has four offensive line commits for the 2025 class, joining Logan Powell, Michael Roeske, and Cam Clark.

Wisconsin Football Commit Nolan Davenport: Scouting Report

Nolan Davenport, Washington, Offensive Tackle

Davenport is a dual-sport athlete at Massillon Washington, excelling in both football and baseball. This past season, he transitioned from tight end to offensive line, marking his debut in that position.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 280 pounds, Davenport has an ideal frame for a college-level offensive tackle. With the help of Brady Collins’ strength and conditioning program, he has the potential to add more quality weight.

Davenport is adept in pass protection, showcasing a strong kick step and quick lateral movement, enabling him to cover ground effectively and prevent defenders from gaining an edge. While he might not be the fastest in run-blocking scenarios, his aggressiveness at the point of contact compensates for this.

A standout feature in Davenport’s highlights is his ability to finish plays. He plays through the whistle, using his upper body strength to dominate defenders and remove them from the play.

Despite being relatively inexperienced on the offensive line, Davenport’s potential and athleticism are evident. He possesses the size and skills to develop into a reliable tackle if he fully harnesses his abilities.

Overall, Wisconsin is acquiring a high-potential prospect with the physicality, athleticism, and strength to succeed at the next level. Though still developing, Davenport is positioned well for growth at Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin football program now has 14 commitments for the 2025 recruiting cycle, currently ranked as the No. 15 class in the nation according to composite rankings.
