Texas Tech’s Calum Scott and Baard Skogen were named to the NCAA Division I PING honorable mention All-America team on Wednesday, according to the Golf Coaches Association of America. Since 2018, at least one Red Raider golfer has appeared on the Division I PING All-America teams.
Scott and Skogen both had outstanding playoff performances, beginning with the regional round in Baton Rouge, where they finished first and second respectively. Skogen won the regional medalist award, his first of the 2023-24 season, by shooting an 8-under 208 against a field of 68. Scott finished second, two strokes behind (6-under 210).
Scott previously led the Red Raiders to the NCAA Championships at the Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, California. Scott finished tied for 11th at the 72-hole event after shooting an even-par 288. He finished his stay with a third-round 4-under 68 and a final-round 2-under 70.
Scott led the Red Raiders in 2023-24 with a 70.9 scoring average across 13 stroke play events and 41 rounds; he also led Tech with eight Top 20 finishes this season. Meanwhile, Skogen ended his senior year with a 72.0 scoring average in 13 stroke play competitions and 38 rounds of golf.
It marks Scott’s first PING All-America honor, and Skogen’s second. Skogen was named to the Honorable Mention All-America team during his second season in 2022. The Red Raider duo were among 32 golfers chosen honorable mention All-America in 2024.
