Texans CJ Stroud Takes Shot At Aaron Rodgers’ Career

The Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans will face up in the 2024 season. On October 20th, the Packers will host the Texans at Lambeau Field. Jordan Love and CJ Stroud, two of the NFL’s most promising young quarterbacks, will face off.
While Aaron Rodgers is one of the most gifted quarterbacks in NFL history, Stroud had some harsh comments about his career.

Houston Texans Quarterback CJ Stroud Wouldn’t Choose Former Green Bay Packers’ Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Career

According to Doric Sam from Bleacher Report:

Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets, is a four-time NFL MVP and one of the best passers of his generation, but his failure to win more than one Super Bowl sets him apart from the all-time greats in some eyes.

During a visit on the MILLION DOLLAZ WORTH OF GAME podcast, Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud was asked if he’d rather have a career like Rodgers or two-time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning. For Stroud, the decision was simple.

C.J. Stroud Feels That His Rookie Season With The Texans Was "A Fail"

“Do you want the rings, dog?” “Eli got two,” Stroud stated at 1:20:00.

Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers to a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV. The 2010 season marked his first and only Super Bowl appearance.

Despite Rodgers’ lack of championship success, Stroud maintained that he should be considered an all-time great. Rodgers’ 103.6 career passer rating is the highest in NFL history, and he also has the best touchdown-to-interception ratio (475-105). While he has yet to reach the Big Game, he is second all-time in playoff passing touchdowns (45) and fourth in postseason passing yards (5,894).

Does CJ Stroud Have A Point?

In short? He absolutely does.

While Rodgers is one of the most gifted players of all time, leaving Green Bay with only one championship was disappointing. After winning the Super Bowl in 2010, the Packers struggled in the playoffs almost every year over the next decade. This featured several visits to the NFC Championship Game.

It will be interesting to see if Rodgers can emulate Tom Brady and win a Super Bowl with a new team in a new conference.

Rodgers and the Jets will try to stun the NFL world after the 40-year-old rebounded from a torn Achilles that sidelined him for much of the 2023 season. Houston will visit New York in Week 9 of the 2024 season, providing Stroud with the opportunity to face a quarterback he admires.
