Breaking: Syracuse Set to Land Another Commitment for Exceptional Star

Messiah Delhomme, a consensus four-star athlete in Virginia’s 2025 class, has picked a top six that includes Syracuse football and some major college schools.

Delhomme, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 196 pounds, stated on his X page that his top six teams are Orange, Alabama, Ohio State, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Virginia.
I have to admit, that’s some pretty exclusive company for Syracuse head coach Fran Brown and his top-tier staff. Delhomme was a standout at Warwick High School in Newport News, Virginia.

According to his X account, he plays numerous positions, including wide receiver, running back, and safety. Throughout his recruitment, he has received around 20 high-major offers.

He received a scholarship offer from the Orange on February 19th of this year.

Syracuse football still in for 2025 four-star athlete Messiah Delhomme.

Beyond the ‘Cuse, Delhomme’s entire offer sheet includes schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia, according to recruiting services.

Delhomme’s bio on multiple recruiting websites indicates that he has official visits scheduled to Virginia Tech, Virginia, Ohio State, and Maryland in the coming weeks. While he paid an unofficial visit to Syracuse in April, I believe if Syracuse football expects to win him over, SU coaches will want to get Delhomme on the Hill for an official visit at some time.

Delhomme is ranked in the top 300 nationally for the rising senior cycle by nearly all of the leading recruiting services. According to 247Sports, Delhomme is now ranked No. 110 overall, No. 11 at safety, and No. 4 in Virginia for 2025.

In late February 2024, 247Sports national analyst Greg Biggins issued a review on Delhomme, saying, in part, “Rare player who could excel on both sides of the ball as well as in the return game at the college level.” His primary position may be safety, but he can also play running back or receiving.

Instinctive player with range and ball control at safety. Attacks the football and has excellent ball awareness. Has been a ball magnet in recent seasons and is a scoring danger every time he turns it over. “His high football IQ should allow him to see the field early in college, and he has definite NFL potential.”

To yet, the Orange crew has done an excellent job with the 2025 class, garnering at least 19 verbal commitments. Multiple recruiting agencies rank this Syracuse football cycle in the top ten nationally.
