Sadiq White Jr., the No. 25 overall recruit in the 2025 class, tells 247Sports that he has committed to Red Autry and Syracuse Orange.

The 6-foot-8, 185-pound power forward from Charlotte (North Carolina) picked Syracuse over Alabama, Georgetown, LSU, Tennessee, Texas, and USC, among others.

“Just the genuine relationship that they had,” White Jr. said, explaining why he chose Syracuse. “They haven’t missed a single game this year, including AAU and high school.” They were present for every significant event for me this season. They offered me feedback on how they saw me improving, how I can grow in their system, and how they can help me become a pro and advance to the next level.”

White Jr. paid a visit to Syracuse in the fall, and his interactions with the personnel and on campus left him with the notion that it was home for him.

“Coach Red, coach Brenden [Straughn] built just a genuine relationship,” he said. “They called and chatted to me all the time about things other than basketball–just life. That was pretty much it. On my visit, it appeared that they had everything I needed to thrive there.”

White Jr. is a gifted and versatile forward with explosive quickness that makes him one of the best defenders in the country, but he has also been increasing his offensive skill set, which includes grabbing lobs, attacking in straight lines, and making the rare jump shot.

“Just my game,” he stated of what he will contribute to the program. “I am the winner. I’ll do whatever it takes to win. Let’s bring back the old Syracuse. “We need to hang more banners.”

White Jr. is Syracuse’s first commitment in the 2025 class, and the second Top 25 recruit to make his selection.
