The son of former Duke great Carlos Boozer talks highly of the UNC basketball program and Head Coach Hubert Davis, naming North Carolina as one of six colleges actively pursuing him.
Cameron and Cayden Boozer, the twin sons of former Duke player Carlos Boozer, are top prospects in the Class of 2025.
Despite the fact that their father, two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, bleeds a darker shade of blue, they are both actively recruited by North Carolina. In May 2023, each received offers to play for the UNC basketball team.
While the twin brothers are both top prospects in the country, Cameron has distinguished out in the challenging high school landscape, earning his status as the No. 2 overall player in the Class of 2025. Cameron praised North Carolina and Head Coach Hubert Davis during a recent interview with Sam Lance of ZagsBlog.
UNC: “It’s how hard they play, how excellent their defense is. Another school that’s one of the most winningest schools in college. Things like that. [Hubert Davis] is a fantastic person. He really motivates his players to go after it and compete every night. That’s what made them so successful this year. So that’s probably the primary point.”
Boozer named the Tar Heels as one of six colleges in the country that are recruiting him the most, along with Miami, Michigan, Arkansas, Florida, and his father’s alma mater, Duke.
The 6-foot-8 forward earned gold at the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, leading the squad with 9.8 rebounds per game.
Neither brother has determined which college they will go, therefore Cameron and Cayden could attend the same university.
The UNC basketball program would love for that collaboration to take place in Chapel Hill, adding another wacky element to the longstanding rivalry between Duke and North Carolina.
