Syracuse basketball 2025 target from Washington, D.C., has been a standout player on the AAU circuit this spring, getting high marks from a slew of national pundits and scouts.
The 6-foot-3 Acaden Lewis, a four-star combo guard, received a scholarship offer from the Orange staff in late April, and he has rapidly emerged as a top recruit for the ‘Cuse program in the next high school senior cycle.
Since receiving his offer from the Orange, Lewis has received scholarship offers from a number of other collegiate teams, including blue-bloods Kentucky and Kansas.
Lewis has made a significant leap in the 2025 national rankings, and it would not surprise me if he continues to advance in the ratings for his class.
Just two years ago, @AcadenLewis was offer-less as the 9th man fighting for playing time on his former HS team.

Acaden Lewis has received multiple offers
Lewis excels at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., as well as the 17U squad of Oxon Hill, Md.-based Team Durant in Nike’s EYBL competition. The EYBL had a session in Indianapolis last weekend during an NCAA live period, and Syracuse head coach Adrian Autry attended at least one Team Durant game during this spring assessment period.
According to his X page, Lewis has recently received offers from Pittsburgh, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Michigan, and West Virginia. His full offer sheet includes Maryland, Virginia Tech, Villanova, Florida State, Georgetown, Virginia, Brown, Bryant, George Mason, George Washington, Georgia, Howard, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, Providence, St. John’s, Vanderbilt, Norfolk State, and UMBC.
Lewis plans to make a few visits when the current AAU season comes to an end. I’ve mentioned several times that he intends to visit Syracuse basketball shortly, and other colleges he may visit include Michigan, two-time defending national champion UConn, and Louisville.
Lewis has already made formal trips to UVA and Florida State, as well as unofficial visits to Georgetown and Virginia Tech.
As a junior in the 2023-24 season, he won numerous awards and honors while guiding Sidwell Friends to a 27-4 overall record, a top-20 national ranking, and the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference (“MAC”) and District of Columbia State Athletic Association (“DCSAA”) Class AA tournament championships.
Several recruiting websites presently list Lewis as a top-100 national talent, a top-15 guard, and a top-three player in Washington, D.C. for the 2025 class.
However, top scout Colby Giacubeno recently stated in a post on X that when MADE Hoops revised their 2025 national rankings, Lewis jumped to No. 51 overall. I predict similar, if not higher, rankings from other recruiting firms in the future.
In a recent interview with recruiting analyst Jake Weingarten, Lewis stated that blue-blood colleges like Kentucky and Kansas are interested in him.
My colleague Jacob Polacheck, a reporter for KSR+ on the On3 network, stated in a recent X post that Kentucky’s assistant coach Jason Hart had been in contact with Lewis.
Yes, he is Jason Hart, the former Syracuse basketball standout. Lewis definitely has a growing list of great suitors, but it would be interesting – and somewhat ironic – if the ‘Cuse and Hart/Kentucky go head to head in Lewis’ recruitment. Stay tuned.
