Duke star lands commitment with another team after entering transfer portal

After four years at Duke, senior guard Jeremy Roach revealed his commitment to Baylor on Instagram Sunday evening. This comes after he declared for the 2024 NBA Draft while still in his fifth and final year of college eligibility.
Roach declared for the draft a year ago while still keeping his collegiate eligibility, allowing him to return for a fourth year with the Blue Devils if it didn’t work out. This time, he is departing Cameron Indoor Stadium for good.

Roach’s career inside and outside Cameron Indoor has seen a lot of history: Mike Krzyzewski’s last year as head coach, Jon Scheyer’s first, a Final Four (against North Carolina, no less), one of Duke’s rare March Madness sit-outs, an ACC tournament championship, and an ACC regular-season title.

He has scored over 1,000 points for Duke, garnering MVP honors in his junior season and was named to the 2023 All-ACC Tournament team. Roach’s name is prominently shown on stat sheets in the assist and, more lately, shooting categories.

The Leesburg, Va. native has had the greatest influence at Duke as a two-time captain and level-headed leader.
