‘Commitment’: Another top star is now transferring to Syracuse

The Syracuse Orange aren’t done adding to their 2024 football roster, as Fran Brown’s team has acquired some additional running back depth.

Will Nixon, son of new Offensive Coordinator and RBs coach Jeff Nixon, joins the opposite coast after failing to win a National Championship with Washington last season. Nixon, a Nebraska wide receiver recruit in the Class of 2020, sat out the majority of two seasons before transferring to Washington.

After breaking through the Huskies’ two-deep in the backfield, Will carried 54 times for 290 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons, while also catching 20 receptions for 150 yards.

Because of the COVID exemption and his actual redshirt in 2021, he still has two years remaining.

Nixon joins LeQuint Allen, Jaden Hart, and Yasin Willis in Syracuse’s running backs room. He takes over the veteran backup job left vacant by Juwaun Price at the end of spring camp.
