Indiana has offered a scholarship to Chris Cenac, a four-star center from Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans, and the YGC36 AAU team, which competes on the Puma Pro16 circuit.
Cenac is a 6-foot-10 center who is presently ranked No. 48 in the 2025 class by 247Sports, but he has been a big riser this spring and will almost surely go up.
Cenac is a player who the IU staff has been tracking and communicating with for some time.
During the season, Cenac recorded 27 points and 21 rebounds versus perennial powerhouse DeMatha.
Brandon Jenkins, a national analyst for 247Sports, wrote this in April:
“In the modern era of basketball, Chris Cenac has a foundation of tools that are wired for success at the highest of levels.”At 6-foot-10, he brings a variety of skills to the table, including the ability to operate off dribble-hand-offs and play on the perimeter while also delivering as a consistent play finisher within.
“Offensively, he adds value both inside and outside, but he actually excelled on defense this weekend. He has natural instincts as a rim protector and is vigilant about patrolling the paint.
“He is also mature in his approach to the game, which provides him an advantage worth betting on. The New Orleans native appears to be a strong prospect for a significant increase in the next rankings update.
Cenac has received scholarship offers from Indiana, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Kansas, Tennessee, Texas, LSU, California, Creighton, Houston, Illinois, Memphis, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Rutgers, SMU, and Texas A&M.
