The future Kentucky duo will represent the Wildcats.
It has been encouraging to see the Kentucky basketball program recruit within the state in recent seasons.
Mark Pope, the head coach, has already brought in the top two in-state players since coming in Lexington, Travis Perry and Trent Noah. Perry had previously committed under John Calipari, but Noah was not even on the Cats’ radar until Pope came.
The future Wildcat combo is also gaining national recognition after being named to the 2023-24 High School All-American Elite Team.
This is the 30th year that Ballislife has released this national team, which features 41 of the greatest seniors and 10 juniors, lead by 2024 Mr. Basketball USA Cooper Flagg.
The first five-man team is:
- Dylan Harper (NJ)
- Cooper Flagg (FL)
- Airious Bailey (GA)
- Cameron Boozer (FL)
- Derik Queen (FL)
Moving down to the third five-man team, we see our first Wildcat, Travis Perry.
Perry is not only one of the most accomplished players on this year’s Elite squad, but he is also a Bluegrass Folk Hero, having led Lyon County to a Sweet 16 title and a No. 47 FAB 50 ranking. He led a program of 277 kids to a 36-3 record, scoring 27 points in the state championship game to earn Sweet 16 MVP honors. During the season, the future Kentucky Wildcat averaged 29.5 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, 5.0 assists per game, and 3.9 steals per game, earning state Mr. Basketball honors and 91 of 124 first-place votes.
Perry’s career statistics are staggering, as he began playing with his Lyon County teammates in second grade and made the varsity in seventh grade. Perry scored 5,481 points in 201 career games, scoring in double figures in 196 of them, and four of those five single-digit games were before ninth grade. He also made 712 3-pointers throughout his career.”
Trent Noah of Harlan County was named to the 2023-24 All-American Second Team following a great high school career.

It may appear complicated, but the entire First-Team unit consisted of five teams of five men, followed by one large Second-Team unit on which Noah played.
The two athletes’ high school careers couldn’t have finished any better, with both guiding their respective teams to the state championship game at Rupp Arena.
Perry and Lyon County won the matchup, 67-58.
It’ll be fantastic to watch the two stars in blue and white next season!
