Breaking: Syracuse Set to Land Commitment for Four Stars

Syracuse football already boasts a top-10 class for the 2025 cycle, and the ‘Cuse staff will soon learn whether it has added more verbal commits to the fold.

According to media sources and social media posts, several Orange 2025 four- and three-star recruits have set decision dates.

Several of these rising high school senior targets have already made unofficial trips to the Hill, and a handful of them plan to make official visits to Syracuse football in the coming weeks.

This article covers three-star quarterback/athlete Quentin Murphy, four-star running back Kentrell Rinehart, four-star quarterback Malik Washington, and three-star defensive end Tommy Rupley.

Syracuse football 2025 recruits will make their commitment announcements soon.

Murphy, who is 6-foot-1 and weighs 205 pounds, attends Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School in Little Rock, Ark., and was offered by the Orange in early January. He intends to make his college decision on June 1.

He went to the ‘Cuse in April. Murphy had ranked Syracuse, Georgia Tech, and Arkansas as the top three football teams the previous month, in March.

According to 247Sports analyst Mike McAllister, the Orange coaching staff was scheduled to meet Murphy last week. As of this writing, the ‘Cuse has some buzz for the top-500 national talent on both the 247Sports and On3 websites.

Rinehart, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound running back from Westland High School in Galloway, Ohio, said on his X page that he will choose a college on July 5.

Syracuse football extended an offer to Rinehart on December 20 of the previous year. In January, he informally visited the team during one of their junior days, and he’s scheduled for an official visit to Syracuse from June 14 to June 16. On3’s recruiting prediction placed Syracuse football as Rinehart’s second choice, just behind N.C. State, another finalist.

Moving on to Washington, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound prospect, he ranks within the top 300 nationally and the top 20 quarterbacks by multiple recruiting services. According to a recent article from 247Sports, Washington is considering making his commitment announcement over the weekend of June 28. He also visited Syracuse unofficially for a junior day in January and has an official visit planned for the weekend starting June 7.

Syracuse’s new coaching staff re-extended an offer to Washington, who hails from Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., in mid-December of 2023.

Currently, Virginia Tech seems to be gaining traction in Washington’s recruitment, as indicated on Rivals.com. He visited the Hokies officially in April.

Rupley, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect, received a scholarship offer from Syracuse about a month ago. He’s set to announce his college decision on May 24, according to his X page.

According to social media, he appears to have a list of eight contenders, which includes the Orange. Rupley attends the Belmont Hill School in Belmont, Massachusetts.

When I wrote this piece, Duke, another of his finalists, had generated some buzz for Rupley on the 247Sports website and Rivals.com.
