Buffalo Bills Could Make Shock Move To Cut SuperStar

No one knows what to anticipate from the Buffalo Bills entering the 2024 NFL season. After trading away top wide receiver Stefon Diggs and losing wideout Gabriel Davis in free agency, the Bills’ offense suffered significantly. They were also unable to make any significant roster additions.

In addition to the two wide outs leaving town, the defense may have lost top safety Micah Hyde. He is pondering retiring. However, if he does decide to play football, he has stated that he will only play for the Bills.
Buffalo has endured a difficult offseason of transition. After appearing to be a Super Bowl contender last season, they fell short once more.

They may be compelled to make another move or two due to their cap issue before the 2024 season.

Buffalo Bills Could Make Big Move To Cut Longtime NFL Star

According to Bleacher Report, the Buffalo Bills may explore removing veteran pass rusher Von Miller to save up salary cap room. They expressed their arguments for advocating that move.

“Von Miller represents the most significant [move]. Parting with him would cost $23.3 million in dead capital, but moving him after June 1 would provide the largest cap savings return. They could net $8.8 million. Miller, 35, was no longer a starter for the Bills last season and did not have a single sack. They’d still have a great three-man rotation with Greg Rousseau, A.J. Epenesa, and Dawuane Smoot. There are a few more veterans on the market, like Yannick Ngakoue and Markus Golden, who would be available for less than $8.8 million.

Moving on from Miller would be a difficult decision, but it made sense. Miller is no longer the top-tier pass-rusher he once was.

According to the article sample, Miller had little impact for the Buffalo Bills past season.

Miller appeared in a total of 12 games in 2023. He made only three total tackles and had no other notable statistics. Those stats are simply not worth keeping him around for the money he makes.

While it’s a disappointing end to an incredible career, the Buffalo Bills should dismiss him. Saving cap space that can be used to develop the team would be beneficial. Miller’s presence adds little at this time.

It will be interesting to watch what the Bills decide to do before the 2024 season. Despite Miller’s great locker room presence, they should release him to save money.
