Former UCLA men’s basketball wing Jaime Jaquez was named to the 2024 NBA All-Rookie First Team in his first season with the Miami Heat. He is the seventh rookie in Heat history to receive the accolade.

Jaquez was named to the team on Monday, joining Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder), Brandon Miller (Charlotte Hornets), Brandin Podziemski (Golden State Warriors), and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs).

Jaquez was taken 18th overall by the Miami Heat in the 2023 NBA Draft.

In his rookie season, Jaquez averaged 11.9 points (6th on the team), 3.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. He also shot 48.9% (5th on the team) from the field and 32.2% from beyond the arc.

During the NBA Playoffs, he averaged 12.8 points for the Heat, but Miami’s season ended in the first round after losing to the Boston Celtics 4-1 in the series.

Jaquez concluded his UCLA career ranked eighth all-time with 1,802 points and 178 steals.

In his senior season, he was voted Pac-12 Player of the Year, becoming the first Bruin to do so since Kevin Love in 2008, who is now a Miami Heat teammate.
