Breaking: Kentucky Lands Another Commitment For All-American Star

The Kentucky Wildcats have just scored a massive special teams Yahtzee through the transfer portal!

Aidan Laros, an FCS All-American punter and kicker, committed to the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Laros confirmed the news via Twitter.

“Committed to the University of Kentucky,” Laros stated in his announcement.

Originally a class of 2020 prospect, Laros began his career at Charlotte, where he played four seasons, including a redshirt year, before transferring to UT-Martin in 2023.

Laros punted 52 times this season, averaging 47.5 yards with a net average of 41.5 yards. He had 18 punts of 50 or more yards, including two of 70 yards, and 16 of his punts landed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line, compared to only seven touchbacks.

Laros also attempted 43/45 extra-points and 10/16 field-goal attempts. He was named the 2023 FCS Punter of the Year and a consensus First-Team All-American.

With Alex Raynor returning as the regular kicker, Laros appears to be the frontrunner to be Kentucky’s primary punter next season. It’s an added plus that he’ll also provide insurance for the kicker position.

A big win for Kentucky’s special teams!
