The Huskies include a big transfer pickup.
Earlier this week, the Washington Huskies received some wonderful news when they discovered Utah State transfer Great Osobor would commit to the program. This is likely Danny Sprinkle’s most significant acquisition during his brief career with Washington, as he seeks to return the Huskies to NCAA Tournament contention next spring.
Osobor arrives in Seattle with extensive experience. He started his career at Montana State and played two seasons before moving to Utah State, where he helped the Aggies make the NCAA Tournament last year. He was an excellent shot blocker and efficient player, averaging 17.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Notably, he played for Sprinkle at both locations.
Given Washington’s significant turnover, it is uncertain how Osobor will fit into the team’s plans for next season. He is certainly a gifted player who will control a lot of possessions. However, the question is whether he will have enough support to produce as he did for the Aggies last season.
Washington also recently welcomed Portland transfer Tyler Harris to the frontcourt, so the two will likely share the majority of the minutes. Luis Kortright, a Rhode Island transfer, also joins the backcourt. There is little doubt that the Huskies will have a “new look” team next season.
BREAKING: Great Osobor, the top-available player in the transfer portal, has committed to Washington, George Langberg of GSL Sports Group told ESPN.

Overall, it’s unclear how Osobor will play in Seattle, but Sprinkle and fans must be enthused about his potential for next season.
