Breaking: Top Duke Star Lands Commitment With Rivals

Clemson head basketball coach Brad Brownell gave a press conference and revealed in his opening remarks that the program was looking to acquire one or two transfers to join Jaeden Zackery (Boston College) and Viktor Lakhin (Cincinnati), who were officially announced as signees on Tuesday.

Brownell was later questioned about the relevance of signing the transfers and other positions could be filled next through the portal.

“We’re excited for both of those people. Jaeden and Viktor will have an instant influence on our team. We definitely need one more frontcourt person who can do that, but we like both of them.”

Just one day later, on Thursday, the Tigers had their ‘frontcourt player.’

Former Duke center Christian Reeves revealed on Instagram that he has committed to Clemson.

The 7’0, 261-pound sophomore selected the Tigers over Florida, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt after redshirting this season due to a right ankle injury that necessitated season-ending surgery. The Charlotte, NC native has three years of eligibility left.

With PJ Hall chasing his NBA dream, Reeves and Lakhin (6’11, 240) will work together to compensate for Hall’s loss of 18.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks as a senior. Hall also made the All-ACC First Team and the NCAA Tournament West All-Region Team.

Reeves signed with Duke in 2022 after attending Oak Hill Academy, where he averaged 9.2 points and 7.4 rebounds as a three-star big.
