After the Miami Heat were crushed in Game 1 of their first-round series against the Boston Celtics, Kristaps Porzingis was asked if his matchup with Bam Adebayo was personal. To that, the Latvian unicorn responded that he “doesn’t care,” and that his main objective in the series is to assist his side beat Miami.
Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo Shares Thoughts on Kristaps Porzingis’ Take
Adebayo was later asked about his thoughts on what Porzingis said after the Heat’s amazing 111-101 victory over the Celtics in Game 2 on Wednesday, and he calmly responded, stating he’s not one to pay attention to such minor details.
Adebayo, like Porzingis, stated that it is all about finding ways to help his team (h/t Noa Dalzell of CelticsBlog).
“It’s what it is.” He may say whatever he likes. We’re simply going to go out there between those lines and conduct business.”
In Game 2, Adebayo clearly outperformed Porzingis. He finished the game with 21 points and 10 rebounds, plus 20 on the floor. However, Porzingis struggled. The Celtics center scored only six points on 1/9 shooting from the floor and finished with an abysmal plus/minus of -32.

They had told Miami that they only needed one win to flip the series around, and the Celtics won three straight games before Miami won Game 7 in Boston to advance to the NBA Finals.
The Celtics entered the 2024 NBA playoffs as the top overall seed and heavy favorites in the first round series, but they gave up 22 3-pointers in Game 1. Miami defeated Boston in Game 2 with a franchise playoff record 23 three-pointers.

During his injury, the Heat lost 114-94 in Game 1 in Boston, but they rebounded on Wednesday, with Tyler Herro leading the Heat with 24 points and 14 assists in Game 2.
The Heat made 23 of 43 three-pointers, the most in a postseason game in franchise history.
Butler will be sidelined for Game 3 and possibly more, as it is planned at Kaseya Center.
