Auburn football received a much-needed transfer portal boost at the Wide Receiver position on Wednesday afternoon with the commitment of Penn State transfer KeAndre Lambert-Smith.

The 6’1, 185-pound receiver played four seasons at Penn State. In 2023, he improved significantly, recording 53 catches, 673 receiving yards, and four touchdowns.

He led Penn State in both receptions and receiving yards this year, earning 2023 All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors. Throughout his Nittany Lion career, he had 126 receptions, 1,721 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns.

247 is the most optimistic about Lambert-Smith, placing him as the portal’s No. 70 overall player and No. 13 receiver. On3 ranks him as the portal’s No. 140 overall player. According to 247, he was the portal’s highest remaining uncommitted receiver and one of the top uncommitted athletes in general.

Lambert-Smith was a big play threat at Penn State, averaging 15.7 yards per reception between his sophomore and junior seasons (2021 and 2022). He is the only receiver in Penn State history to have multiple 80+-yard grabs, including an 88-yard touchdown catch in the 2023 Rose Bowl.

Lambert-Smith is using his Covid-year of eligibility and will likely play his last year of eligibility on the Plains this season.

Hugh Freeze and Auburn have been extremely active on the Transfer Portal this offseason. Lambert-Smith is the Tigers’ 13th portal signee this season. He is the third WR, after Cal transfer Sam Jackson V and Georgia State transfer Robert Lewis.
