Baker Mayfield has made an immediate impact in Tampa Bay with the signing of his new deal.
In the offseason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed quarterback Baker Mayfield to a three-year contract worth up to $100 million. Since then, he’s embraced the Tampa Bay community and the other local sports teams.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are preparing to make another playoff run after a long stretch of success, and while they earned a wild card and aren’t expected to win the Stanley Cup this year, the team is eager to prove the skeptics wrong — and Mayfield helped Lightning fans prepare for it.

“For every member of this locker room, for the roaring thunder that rains down from these stands, for a city that refuses to be labeled an underdog,” Mayfield can be heard saying in the film. “Not us, not now, not ever.”
Mayfield has previously seen at Lightning games with his teammates, as well as Tampa Bay Rays games, indicating that he has made a home in Tampa Bay. It’s probable that he’ll be present when the Bolts play the Panthers in their first playoff series, which begins at 12:30 on April 21.
