The Buffalo Bills are apparently looking for an offensive weapon in Round 1 of the NFL Draft, and superstar quarterback Josh Allen will likely make a recommendation to general manager Brandon Beane.
Who is it going to be this year?
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen expressed his preference at the outset of the 2023 NFL Draft.
“Last year on Draft Day, I texted Beane, ‘Dalton Kincaid.'” “That’s all I said,” Allen told reporters at One Bills Drive on April 18.
Much to Allen’s pleasure, Beane moved up two positions in Round 1, leapfrogging the Dallas Cowboys, to ensure the Bills acquired their favorite player. Buffalo took Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid as the No. 25 overall pick and immediately inserted him into the offensive plans.
Kincaid missed only one regular season game as a rookie, finishing with 73 receptions and 29 first downs. He led the Bills in catch % at 80.2 percent, establishing himself as a reliable target for Allen, who may or may not have persuaded Beane to choose the sure-handed pass-catcher.
“I’d like to think that I have some say in who we pick, but, honestly, I don’t,” said Allen, who has scored more touchdowns than any other player in NFL history in his first six seasons.
With starting receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis moving on this offseason, Buffalo would be wise to provide another playmaker for Allen.
On Thursday night, we’ll find out who is this year’s “Dalton Kincaid.”
