Everton set to sign Foxes star on free transfer

Everton want to buy Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi this summer as his contract expires at the end of the season, according to Tutto Juve.

According to the news outlet’s website (18 April), the Nigeria international will be available on a free transfer and is garnering interest from a number of clubs, including the Toffees.

Juventus, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Sevilla, Getafe, and Fenerbahce are among the clubs said to be interested in the 27-year-old defensive midfielder, who has 192 appearances in England’s top division.

Wilfred Ndidi would be a perfect Everton signing

The summer window at Goodison Park appears to be a bit chaotic, with multiple departures predicted due to the club’s financial position.

A number of veteran players are out of contract at the conclusion of the season, including Senegal international Idrissa Gueye, who plays in a similar position and style to Ndidi.

Gueye is also much older, and his performances have declined this season, but Ndidi has been an integral part of Leicester’s Championship promotion drive, and he is certainly ready to return to the Premier League.

If Everton can avoid relegation, which will be difficult given the current situation, Ndidi would be an ideal addition for the club as they start this new era.

With no transfer fee and very moderate salaries from the Championship, it would be a significant increase to the squad and an excellent foundation for Dyche to build on.

In other Everton news, one international ace’s Goodison Park career is almost certainly gone following his performance against Chelsea.
