Auburn’s recruiting efforts put the Tigers in position to land one of the Lone Star State’s top prep talent

Kiotti Armstrong, ranked as the #66 prospect nationwide by Rivals, is a versatile athlete who can play edge rusher or tight end. Armstrong, who attended Jasper (Texas) High School in the state’s east, is a player who can play on either side of the football field.

On3 recruits have just posted to X the following:

“Miami, Auburn, Texas and Texas A&M are at the top for 4-star TE Kiotti Armstrong, he tells Chad Simmons.”

The Tigers need help at tight end and defensive end, so Armstrong would be an excellent addition regardless of where he played.

His official visits to Auburn (May 31), Texas A&M (June 14), and Texas (June 21) are already scheduled.

Michigan State Football to Host Transfer Receiver From Auburn

Wide receiver Ja’Varrius Johnson, formerly of Auburn, is exploring his options in the transfer portal, with visits planned to various schools including UCF, where he met with his former coach Gus Malzahn. Next on his list are visits to Arizona and Michigan State, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

Michigan State seems like a promising destination for Johnson, given the team’s wide-open receiver situation and the recent overhaul in coaching staff and players. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 167 lbs, Johnson, a former four-star recruit, showcased his skills at Auburn, tallying 64 receptions for 1,114 yards and eight touchdowns over four seasons.

Having connected with former Spartans quarterback Payton Thorne previously, Johnson could potentially strengthen Michigan State’s offense. Despite his size, Johnson’s agility and ability to create separation make him a valuable asset.

If Johnson commits to Michigan State, he could significantly bolster their recruitment efforts, setting the stage for further improvements in the team. Teaming up with current Spartan receiver Tre Mosley, Johnson could provide a potent receiving duo for quarterbacks Tommy Schuster and Aidan Chiles.

The anticipation is high for Michigan State’s spring showcase, where the revamped team under coach Jonathan Smith will have the chance to demonstrate their progress. Despite some inevitable adjustments, both players and coaches are optimistic about the team’s trajectory, with Saturday’s showcase serving as an opportunity to validate their growth.
