According to Tuttosport, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton are both interested in signing Genoa’s Koni De Winter this summer.
Last summer, the Serie A club signed the defender on loan from Juventus with an option to buy if certain conditions are met. This is likely to be fulfilled, and the Old Lady will earn €8 million from the sale.
De Winter has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season, and his performances have caught the attention of both Wolves and Everton.
On March 22nd, TuttoMercatoWeb reported that Gary O’Neil’s team had been scouting the centre-back for some weeks.
A week later, the same publication revealed Everton’s interest in signing the Belgium international, who can also play right back.
Tuttosport claims it’s ‘no wonder’ that Wolves and the Toffees are interested in the versatile defender given his recent play.
Even if De Winter’s stay at Genoa is poised to become permanent soon, he might yet depart in the next transfer window. According to the article, the Italian club can sell him if they receive a ‘significant offer’, but no amounts are mentioned.
In summary, Wolves and Everton’s proposals must persuade Genoa that they want to recruit the Belgian.
