The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed University of Michigan junior forward Dylan Duke to a three-year entry-level contract, the team announced today (Monday, April 15). The deal will begin in 2024-25, and he will report to the Syracuse Crunch for the rest of the season.
Duke, the Lightning’s fourth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, appeared in 41 games this season, scoring 26 goals and 23 assists for 49 points. Duke ranked 11th in the NCAA in overall points, averaging 1.20 points per game, and sixth in goals per game (0.63 gpg). Duke, a native of Strongsville, Ohio, scored eight game-winning goals, 12 power-play goals, and two shorthanded goals this season.
Duke, an alternative captain, ranked second in the nation in game winners. This season, he was voted second-team All-Big Ten and MVP of the NCAA Regional in Maryland Heights after defeating North Dakota and Michigan State by a combined five points.
Duke appeared in 123 games and scored 100 points across three seasons. He has 54 goals and 46 assists, including 21 power-play goals, 10 game-winners, and two shorties. He finished +25 with 95 career blocks. He led Michigan to the NCAA Frozen Four all three seasons and back-to-back Big Ten Tournament titles in 2022 and 2023.
